Wheeee ^_^ It's that time of year again, and I'm in a Christmassy mood. Helped by an awesome party round at Seth and Nat 's place...with much turkey, pudding, ice cream, pudding, pudding, pudding... Such fun, and it's really nice to be spending time with such good friends at this time of year. Also Iggi who moved away this summer came down to visit last week, it was wonderful to see her again and we had a great time, gaming together, a day out, staying up late chatting, like old times

It'll be a very hectic Christmas vacation for me though, compared to past years, given that, unless there's excessive snow, I'll be travelling about a lot with my boyfriend visiting both our families together. And I have essays to do, which need to be done, excessive snow or not. I was planning on drawing a seasonal picture for you all on Deviantart but due to the hecticness of the next few weeks I don't know when I'll get around to drawing it, so it may be a tad late. On the upside, while this time of year usually makes me cheery (yes...I'm a big kid...dispite never having believed in Santa Claus...a fact that caused the other children to brand me a heretic), this is the first Christmas in years where I've felt really CONTENT with life. While this year hasn't been perfect, it has brought a lot of things that I really wanted - solid friendships, a new relationship with somebody who makes me happy, graduation, getting onto the course I wanted, a long-overlooked medical solution to my depression, and other such things. The coming year looks like it has a butt-ton of challenges in store - passing said course, finding a new home, and trying to get a damned job at long last, but for the first time EVER I'm feeling optimistic.

Veldrin: That my mother was so lazy when I was born that she couldn't be bothered to pick a name for me so just went with "generic drow name #75839.
Lesainar: It's a variant spelling...should be Lasaonar. No idea why the change in spelling.
Dora: Not really, my mother liked the name.
Yeeghei: Look at all the vowels!
Melissa: My real name is Maelessa, but when I landed up on the Surface aged 6, the other kids always misheard it as Melissa, and it stuck.


-V. Any siblings?

Veldrin: My only surviving family member, and incidentally the only one I ever liked anyway, is my big brother Ekal, 13 years older than me.
Lesainar: Damned if I know. Not seen my family since I was 13. Couldn't care less.
Dora: One older brother, one younger sister. Geiger and Sandra.
Yeeghei: My little brother, Jonathe.
Melissa: Not that I know of. I basically never knew my family.

My brain is SLUDGE. Not been able to concentrate, not been able to do much creative...and MAN is that bugging me. I have my laptop back, so all my old fiction projects are here for me to work on again...and I have a brand new shiny one...and GIMP to paint lots of pictures...and a guitar...but I can't seem to do ANYTHING!
Anyone got any ideas for what I can do to remedy this irritating situation?
And I forgot to take my meds on time. BUGGER.

Hey everybody. I don't really journal-update that often any more (not that that's a problem - it's just struck me how little I talk about Stuff Going On these days, even though there's still stuff a-plenty) but I felt like writing today.

So, Halloween was an absolute blast. had a house party over at hers in Winchester, and it was f'in awesome...we drove there in my car (which I have affectionately and ironically now nicknamed the Landraider), stopping off at the supermarket to pick up some halloween snacks on the way, and probably baffled but made the checkout-lady smile, being as we were 2 pirates (myself and Andy) two mad scientists (my two flatmates) and just loitering there not in costume but being loitery as always. Anyways...it was one hell of a halloween party, lots of people, much cake, much dancing...best Halloween party I have been to in years.
Also before we left our house we got trick or treated by a small child dressed as a pumpkin So I answered the door dressed as a pirate and gave him some Gummy Bears. It's nice when you get the harmless variety of trick or treaters and not the "give us five quid or we nick your hubcaps" type.
Also thanks to my wonderful friends, and especially my lovely Andy, it was a really special halloween of much specialness. ^_^

In other news...been kinda HIIIIGH lately. No, I have not become a stoner, I have, however, been put on antidepressants. All in all that's no bad thing; my crushing depression it turned out WAS the result of a chemical imbalance and not anything wrong with my life (I'm quite happy with my life actually) so all this amounts to is taking medicine for a medical problem. I'm fairly optimistic overall; haven't had a Crushing Depression episode since I started taking 'em. The problem however is that the first few weeks have come with side effects so I've been feeling rather sick, and more to the point spent the first few days TRIPPING OFF MY FACE on the damn things. That thankfully has settled down...but it had been a bit of a bastard given that it meant I was twitching, giggling uncontrollably, and generally being high in class when I was meant to be concentrating...
...Oh well. It'll be worth it in the long run.

This PC is also struggling (problems with the C drive getting over-full, damned bloated Windows XP) and my laptop died and got taken away by the repairman. Now, I have backups of my novel and such, but the most recent backup is still a LITTLE out of date and missing the most recent chapter. I can re-write it if necessary, but I'd rather not have to...I'll have to wait until the repairman gives it back and see if all the files are still intact and right where I left em. Whenever that is.

ZOMG...the hour is late. I should go to bed, I guess.

Whewt...what a splendid birthday party it was. A bit more quiet than last year's (but then again, I guess no birthday is quite like a 21st, so I've been told, and the only notable thing about the number 22 is that it looks like 2 little ducks.) Once again, post-apocalyptic future themed fancy dress (hey, why give up on a good theme, especially when your wardrobe already consists of leather, camos, fishnet and goggles?) lots of friends, some home-made chocolate crispy cakes...and too much rum. Turns out that Sailor Jerrys tastes like those drumstick lollipops I used to have as a kid...ehehehe...and dammit if Andy doesn't look good in post-apocalyptic-future trenchcoat/hat/bullet belt... Ahem. Now nursing a slight raging hangover from candy-tasting rum. Le sigh. My alcohol tolerance is as poor as it ever was.

Yes. Fun party. I'm old. Wheeeeee! Apparently some splendid photos were taken of all the costumes and stuff.
